Schengen visa or a national visa may be issued for:
Schengen visa or a national visa entitle to stay on Polish territory, and to work, if the foreigner submits a work permit for Polish territory, or a written statement by the employer of his intention to entrust work to a foreigner, if work permit is not required.
AUTHORITY ISSUING WORK VISAS
National visa to carry out work shall be issued or refused by the consul competent with respect to the State of residence of the foreigner. If the foreigner is legally residing in the territory of the EU Member States, Member States of the European Free Trade Association (EFTA) - parties to agreement on the European Economic Area or the Swiss Confederation, a work visa can be also issued by another consul.
PERIOD OF STAY
Schengen visa or a national visa for work is issued for the period of stay, which corresponds to the period indicated in the permit or a statement, not longer than provided for this type of visa. In the case of a visa for work in a period not exceeding 6 months within the next 12 months, based on the statement of intention to entrust work, the period of residence for which the visa is issued cannot be longer than 6 months in a period of 12 months commencing from the date of foreigner's first entry on Polish territory.
