WHERE SHOULD I APPLY FOR ASSISTANCE?

To receive assistance you need to visit one of the two reception centres of the Department for Social Assistance and register:

  • the Biała Podlaska reception centre should be visited by persons who are submitting a refugee status application in Poland for the first time.
  • the Podkowa Leśna - Dębak centre should be visited by foreigners who have initiated a next refugee status procedure, as well as people who returned to Poland after voluntary repatriation and submitted an application for resuming the procedure which had previously been discontinued due to the departure.

The Department for Social Assistance may provide assistance in the following ways:

  • 1. Accommodation in one of the centres, 13 centres for foreigners are currently available - map with centres.
  • 2. Financial benefits to cover on one's own the cost of the stay in the Republic of Poland. This means that the foreigner receives financial assistance which they must use to cover day-to-day expenses

Also, whatever the type of assistance they benefit from, the foreigner is entitled to:

  • Medical care
  • Assistance in voluntary return
